Skill, Idea, and Commitment
2:05pm @ Scoville.
In my world of filming making, there are three things I value the most:
Skill, Idea and Commitment.
Skill can be learned, can be practiced.
Idea also can be learned, can be brainstormed.
But commitment cannot be achieved unless you have really committed.
Commitment means being responsible, positive and passionate to me.
I honestly love to work with anyone who is committed to the project; even they have no ideas or skills at all. Creative partner can be fun to work with, but skillful partner sometimes will be a great pain.
Skill, Idea and Commitment represent
Talent, Luck and Effort
I think they are increasingly important in order.
quote from 明報 5/5/07
That is the correct attitude for everyone in any fields.

對自己愈來愈有要求…
you’re right, we need this attitude.

more importantly, 你要不介意演任何角色,與不同人合作,學盡他們的長處。

“A good actor does not start with choosing what role to play. They all eager to try various roles, and work with different directors. The difference is after earning enough experiences, some actors are satisfied with their limited talent, while the others successful actors will continously improving their skill, work with a respectable crew, and never stop demanding themselves.”

The difference is_,_ after earning enough experiences, some actors are satisfied with their limited talent, while the _other_ successful actors will _continuously_improve_ their skill, work with a respectable crew, and never stop demanding _more from_ themselves.”
In a way, I think being able to commit to something is almost a natural talent. That is, I think you can only truly commit to something if you care a great deal about it.
